Pastel PS Marion
PS Marion in mist on the Murray River. Near Mannum South Australia

Built in 1896 the hull of PS (Paddle Steamer) Marion started life as a river barge. Today she is the only wood fired paddle steamer, with overnight accommodation, still operating on the Murray. In early 1900 she had a basic superstructure built and a steam engine installed. PS Marion is still powered by her original engine. Over the years she has had many owners and uses, each owner altering her superstructure to suit. She was recommissioned after a huge voluntary restoration effort in1994. PS Marion docks at the Arnold Park Dock in Mannum South Australia from where she hosts the world acclaimed Rockford Estate Steam Powered Dinners.
